Anne and Daniel Ministry Update July 18, 2014

Greetings from our desk to yours!

When I (Anne) finally sat down at my desk at home last week, I was so glad not to have to travel anywhere for a little while, but simply to enjoy working at home and interacting with family visiting from France. Since our trip to Canada I have been to Nigeria again (yes just a few days after the bombing in Jos) and then checked Luke with the Siamou translation team in Ouagadougou. Thank-you so much for your prayers - both checking sessions went very smoothly.

Right now I am getting ready for a checking workshop in Congo — Brazzaville in August. I will be supervising four other consultants and five translation teams for a two year Old Testament Selections Project. I am so thankful for this opportunity, and especially ask for your prayers as I prepare for this new challenge. For those of you who know what I have been through, this opportunity borders on the miraculous.

Greetings from our family to yours!

A Note on Daniel's Ministries

Over the years Daniel has established a number of Christian private schools, some in his own name, others in the name of his church denomination Apostolic Mission Church. Thanks to a generous gift, our Kompaoré Education Fund has provided subsidies and grants this past year for the following young people: subsidies for orphan children attending Daniel's St Jean school, a grant for a young woman (also orphaned) studying social work in a two year program, a travel bursary for a theological student to study Hebrew in Israel, and school fees for two Bible seminary students. We are thankful for support that provides us with opportunities to help others.

Another opportunity to help others came about through a matching grant for solar powered lights for rural Apostolic Mission church communities. Commission to Every Nation 5K fund will give us with $3000 U.S. dollars for this project, if we can raise another $3000. We were able to provide $1000 with our current resources, but we will need your extra help for the other $2000. Environmental friendly light is especially appreciated for evening church activities and children's studies in areas where there are no electric lines. Consider chipping in and making a church community happy.

Finally Daniel's Moore hymnbook is almost ready to go press! He has been working on this for a number of years. Smaller editions have been circulating for a long time, but this will be a definitive publication of about 250 hymns in his mother tongue — some original compositions, others translated from various languages. A crowning achievement! If you would like to contribute to its publication, write us a note when you send in your contribution. We will hold it in an account until sufficient funds have been raised, estimated at about $4,500 for 1000 copies.

Thank-you again for your support through prayers and finances! Don't forget to check out the WordShare Prayer Page on Facebook for the latest prayer requests and news. Ask to be invited.
